On Sept 2, I’ll be in Bombay to introduce the book & talk about India’s war, with FT bureau chief James Crabtree & military historian Sqd Ldr Rana Chhina. ![]() ![]() It was released in the UK in June, and in India last month (some of its reviews are here). My book, Farthest Field: An Indian Story of the Second World War, has been published at last. I hope this will interest the Parsi community in Bombay. Besides that, the book opens in Calicut - and introduces the little-known community of Kerala Parsis, who were very significant to the history of Calicut and the region. I must have mentioned that its protagonists are a young family of Parsis joining the Indian Army in WW2. Even though it’s a last minute update, if you are in Mumbai, I urge you to go attend the talk. Raghu is on a book tour and writes in about an event in Mumbai today that he will be speaking at. The book was recently launched and we are happy to have got our pre-ordered copy from Frequent readers of Parsi Khabar will be familiar with the name of Raghu Karnad who has featured on the site in the past seeking information during the research phase of his first book “Farthest Field: An Indian Story Of The Second World War”. ![]()
